Ecclesiastes 3 (vv. 16-17)

In the shadows, powerful men exchange knowing glances, and the atmosphere feels morally heavy. Yet above the scene, a piercing beam of light breaks through the darkened sky, hinting that human courts may fail, but divine judgment over every deed still awaits.

장면은 정의가 다스려야 할 공적인 장소로 옮겨가지만, 그곳에는 부패가 뿌리내리고 있다. 성문 재판 자리에서 재판관과 장로들은 높이 앉아 엄숙해 보이지만, 아래에는 연약한 청원자가 무시당하거나 침묵을 강요당한 채 서 있다. 그늘 속에서는 권세 있는 자들이 의미심장한 눈빛을 주고받고, 전체 분위기는 도덕적으로 무겁다. 그러나 장면 위로 어두운 하늘을 가르며 한 줄기 빛이 내려와, 인간의 법정은 실패할 수 있어도 모든 행위를 심판하시는 하나님의 판단은 남아 있음을 암시한다.
