Deuteronomy 8 (vv. 7-10)

The promised land is portrayed in vivid abundance: brooks and streams flowing through valleys and hills, fields of wheat and barley, vines, fig trees, pomegranates, olives, and honey. The people stand at the threshold of a place where bread will not be scarce and resources lie hidden even in the rocks. The proper response to such fullness is gratitude and praise to the LORD.

약속의 땅은 계곡과 언덕 사이로 흐르는 시내와 샘, 밀과 보리의 들판, 포도나무와 무화과나무, 석류와 올리브와 꿀이 있는 풍성한 땅으로 생생하게 묘사된다. 백성은 양식이 부족하지 않고 바위 속에도 자원이 감추어진 그 땅의 문턱에 서 있다. 이러한 충만함에 대한 마땅한 응답은 여호와께 감사와 찬양을 드리는 것이다.
