Deuteronomy 6 (vv. 13-19)

The people are confronted with a choice of allegiance in the land surrounded by other nations and their gods. Israel is called to fear the LORD alone, reject idols, and walk in what is right and good; the seriousness of divine jealousy and covenant faithfulness hangs over the scene like a storm, while the promise of victory and inheritance remains ahead.

백성은 여러 민족과 그들의 신들로 둘러싸인 땅에서 누구에게 충성할 것인지 선택의 기로에 선다. 이스라엘은 오직 여호와만 경외하고 우상을 거절하며, 옳고 선한 길을 걸으라는 부르심을 받는다. 하나님의 질투와 언약의 신실함이 폭풍 같은 긴장감으로 장면 위에 드리워져 있지만, 동시에 승리와 기업의 약속도 앞에 놓여 있다.
