Deuteronomy 31 (vv. 9-13, 24-26)

Moses writes down the law and hands it over to the Levitical priests who carry the ark, along with the elders of Israel. He commands that it be read publicly at the appointed time so that every member of the community—men, women, children, and foreigners—may hear and learn to fear the LORD. The image centers on the written covenant as a sacred witness, preserved beside the ark for future generations.
