Deuteronomy 28 (vv. 63-68)

The final movement of the chapter is exile and restless fear. Uprooted from the land, the people are scattered among foreign nations, carrying their few possessions across barren roads and toward ships bound for humiliation. Strange idols of wood and stone stand in alien lands, while the exiles’ faces show anxiety, weariness, and dread day and night. The scene should feel like the undoing of identity: a people once planted now torn up and dispersed, with no rest for the sole of the foot.

이 장의 마지막 흐름은 추방과 쉼 없는 두려움이다. 백성은 그 땅에서 뽑혀 나와 낯선 민족들 사이로 흩어지고, 얼마 남지 않은 소지품을 들고 메마른 길을 지나 수치의 배를 향해 간다. 이방 땅에는 나무와 돌로 만든 낯선 우상들이 서 있고, 포로들의 얼굴에는 밤낮으로 불안과 피로와 공포가 어려 있다. 이 장면은 정체성의 해체처럼 느껴져야 한다. 한때 심겨졌던 백성이 이제 뽑혀 흩어졌고, 발바닥 둘 곳조차 없는 상태를 보여 주어야 한다.
