Deuteronomy 28 (vv. 49-57)

A foreign nation from far away descends like an eagle and surrounds the cities of the land. The image should show towering siege pressure against walls once trusted for safety, while inside the city famine and desperation spread. Rather than depicting the most horrific details directly, the scene should communicate unbearable pressure through gaunt faces, shuttered homes, empty storage jars, and the shadow of siege engines and enemy banners. The emotional center is the collapse of security and the terror of prolonged suffering.

먼 나라에서 온 이방 민족이 독수리처럼 내려와 그 땅의 성읍들을 에워싼다. 이 이미지는 한때 안전을 보장하리라 여겨졌던 성벽이 거대한 포위 압박을 받는 모습을 보여 주어야 하며, 성 안에는 기근과 절망이 퍼지고 있다. 가장 끔찍한 세부를 직접 묘사하기보다, 수척한 얼굴들, 닫힌 집들, 빈 저장 항아리들, 그리고 성벽 위로 드리운 공성 장비와 적군 깃발의 그림자를 통해 견딜 수 없는 압박을 전달해야 한다. 감정의 중심은 안전의 붕괴와 오래 지속되는 고통의 공포이다.
