Deuteronomy 28 (vv. 15-24)

The tone turns sharply from blessing to curse. A once-productive land is now lifeless: the city and countryside alike are stricken, baskets sit empty, fields are cracked, and the sky above is hard and metallic, refusing rain. Dust falls where rain should be. The scene should visually express covenant reversal—everything that was once fruitful is now shut down by divine judgment, and ordinary life has become barren and oppressive.

분위기는 복에서 저주로 급격히 전환된다. 한때 풍성하던 땅은 이제 생명을 잃었다. 성읍과 들판 모두 재앙을 입었고, 바구니는 비어 있으며, 밭은 갈라지고, 하늘은 비를 내리지 않는 금속 같은 단단함으로 덮여 있다. 비가 내려야 할 자리에는 먼지가 떨어진다. 이 장면은 언약의 전복을 시각적으로 보여 주어야 한다. 한때 열매 맺던 모든 것이 이제 하나님의 심판 아래 막혀 버렸고, 일상의 삶은 메마르고 짓눌리는 현실이 되었다.
