Deuteronomy 24 (vv. 19)

Harvesters move through a field gathering grain, but one sheaf remains behind. Rather than turning back to claim it, the landowner leaves it where it lies. At a distance, a foreigner, a fatherless child, and a widow approach to gather what has been intentionally left for them. The scene embodies generosity woven into ordinary labor, showing that blessing is shared when the strong make room for the vulnerable.

추수꾼들이 들판을 지나며 곡식을 거두지만, 한 곡식단이 뒤에 남겨진다. 주인은 그것을 다시 가지러 돌아가지 않고 그대로 두어 버린다. 멀리서 이방인과 아버지 없는 아이와 과부가 다가와 의도적으로 남겨진 것을 거두려 한다. 이 장면은 일상의 노동 속에 스며든 너그러움을 보여 주며, 강한 자가 약한 자를 위해 자리를 남겨 둘 때 복이 함께 나누어진다는 사실을 드러낸다.
