Deuteronomy 10 (vv. 1-3)

At the LORD’s command, Moses prepares for the covenant to be renewed. He chisels two new stone tablets like the first ones and makes a wooden ark of acacia wood. Holding the tablets in his hands, he begins the ascent of the mountain, embodying obedience, restoration, and reverence after Israel’s failure.

여호와의 명령에 따라 모세는 언약의 회복을 준비한다. 그는 처음 것과 같은 두 돌판을 다듬고 아카시아 나무로 궤를 만든다. 두 돌판을 손에 들고 산을 오르기 시작하는 모세의 모습은, 이스라엘의 실패 이후에도 이어지는 순종과 회복, 경외를 보여 준다.
