Daniel 8 (vv. 3-4)

Daniel looks up and sees a ram standing beside the canal, its two long horns uneven, one rising higher though it appeared later. The ram surges powerfully toward the west, north, and south, unstoppable in its advance, embodying a kingdom that grows in dominance and acts without resistance.

다니엘이 눈을 들어 보니 운하 곁에 두 개의 긴 뿔을 가진 숫양이 서 있는데, 한 뿔이 더 늦게 났으나 더 크게 자라 있다. 그 숫양은 서쪽과 북쪽과 남쪽으로 힘차게 밀고 나가며 아무도 막을 수 없는 세력으로 번성하는 왕국을 상징한다.
