Description
Daniel is deeply troubled by the meaning of the dream, wishing it would fall on the king’s enemies instead. Yet he faithfully declares that the great tree represents Nebuchadnezzar himself, and that the king will be brought low, driven from human society, and made to live like an animal until he learns that Heaven rules. Daniel ends with a compassionate appeal: renounce sin, do what is right, and show mercy to the oppressed.
