Amos 3 (vv. 1-2)

The people of Israel are gathered as a covenant family before the word of the LORD. The scene recalls their deliverance from Egypt, yet the atmosphere is not celebratory but solemn: the nation that was uniquely chosen is now confronted with its guilt. Divine presence is suggested by overwhelming light from above, while the people stand in uneasy silence, realizing that privilege has become responsibility and that judgment is coming because of their sins.

이스라엘 백성이 언약의 가족으로서 여호와의 말씀 앞에 모여 있다. 이 장면은 그들이 애굽에서 구원받았던 기억을 떠올리게 하지만, 분위기는 기쁨이 아니라 엄숙함으로 가득하다. 특별히 선택받은 민족이 이제 자신의 죄 앞에 직면하고 있다. 하나님의 임재는 위에서 쏟아지는 압도적인 빛으로 암시되고, 백성은 불안한 침묵 속에 서서 특권이 책임이 되었고 죄로 인해 심판이 다가오고 있음을 깨닫는다.
