Acts 8 (vv. 1-4)

After Stephen’s death, a wave of persecution crashes over the believers in Jerusalem. Saul stands in fierce approval as frightened disciples flee the city in different directions, carrying only what they can. In another part of the scene, godly men bury Stephen with deep mourning, while Saul’s campaign against the church intensifies as homes are entered and believers are taken away. Yet amid the sorrow and chaos, the scattered followers continue speaking the word wherever they go, showing that the gospel is moving even through suffering.

스데반의 죽음 이후, 예루살렘의 신자들에게 큰 박해가 밀려온다. 사울은 매서운 태도로 그 일을 지지하고, 두려움에 찬 제자들은 짐을 간단히 챙긴 채 여러 방향으로 성을 떠난다. 장면의 다른 한편에서는 경건한 사람들이 스데반을 장사하며 깊이 애통하고, 동시에 사울은 집집마다 들어가 신자들을 끌어내며 교회를 짓밟는다. 그러나 슬픔과 혼란 속에서도 흩어진 성도들은 가는 곳마다 말씀을 전하며, 고난 속에서도 복음이 계속 퍼져 나감을 보여 준다.
