Acts 7 (vv. 1-2)

The scene opens in the council chamber as the high priest questions Stephen before the Sanhedrin. Stephen stands calm and resolute amid a semicircle of powerful religious leaders, beginning his speech with respect but also boldness: “Brothers and fathers, listen to me.” This moment introduces the tension between earthly authority and Spirit-filled witness.
