Description
As the fourteenth night drags on, sailors detect land and drop anchors in fear of hidden rocks. After a failed attempt by some sailors to escape in the lifeboat, Paul urges everyone to eat, takes bread, gives thanks to God before all, breaks it, and begins to eat. In the dim light before dawn, the whole company of 276 gains strength and courage, then lightens the ship by throwing grain into the sea.
