In Caesarea, at the house of Philip the evangelist, the prophet Agabus arrives from Judea and delivers a dramatic prophetic sign. Taking Paul’s belt, he binds his own hands and feet and declares that the owner of the belt will be bound in Jerusalem and handed over to the Gentiles. Those present are overwhelmed and plead with Paul not to go, but Paul responds with unwavering resolve, saying he is ready not only to be bound but also to die for the name of the Lord Jesus.
