Acts 16 (vv. 16-18)

On the way to the place of prayer, Paul and his companions are repeatedly followed by a slave girl possessed by a spirit of divination. After many days of her loud cries, Paul turns and commands the spirit in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. In an instant the oppressive power is broken, and the girl stands as the center of a dramatic confrontation between exploitation and liberation.

기도하러 가는 길에 바울과 그의 동행자들은 점치는 영에 사로잡힌 한 여종에게 여러 날 동안 따라다니며 외침을 듣게 된다. 마침내 바울은 돌아서서 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 그 영에게 나오라고 명령한다. 그 즉시 억압하던 힘이 꺾이고, 그 소녀는 착취와 해방이 충돌하는 극적인 장면의 중심에 서게 된다.
