Description
After Peter’s escape, chaos erupts among the soldiers, but the narrative reaches its climax when Herod appears in royal splendor before the people of Caesarea. As the crowd flatters him with divine honors, he accepts the praise instead of giving glory to God. Immediately an angel of the Lord strikes him down, and the ruler who exalted himself falls, while the word of God continues to spread and flourish.
