Acts 11 (vv. 19-26)

After persecution scattered believers, some preach not only to Jews but also to Greeks in Antioch, and many turn to the Lord. Barnabas is sent from Jerusalem, and when he sees the grace of God at work, he rejoices and encourages the believers to remain faithful. He then seeks Saul in Tarsus and brings him back to Antioch, where together they teach the growing church for a year. This scene highlights Antioch as a vibrant, multicultural center where the disciples are first called Christians.

박해로 흩어진 신자들 가운데 몇몇은 안디옥에서 유대인뿐 아니라 헬라인들에게도 복음을 전했고, 많은 사람이 주께 돌아왔다. 예루살렘에서 파송된 바나바는 하나님의 은혜가 역사하는 모습을 보고 기뻐하며 신자들에게 마음을 다해 주께 붙어 있으라고 권면한다. 이후 그는 다소로 가서 사울을 찾아 안디옥으로 데려오고, 두 사람은 1년 동안 성장하는 교회를 가르친다. 이 장면은 제자들이 처음으로 그리스도인이라 불린 다문화적 중심지 안디옥의 생동감을 보여 준다.
