2 Samuel 5 (vv. 6-10)

David and his men march against Jerusalem, where the Jebusites confidently mock him from their stronghold. Yet despite their defiance, David captures the fortress of Zion and makes it his own city. The scene captures the tension between human arrogance and divinely favored conquest, as the seemingly impregnable stronghold becomes the City of David.
