Description
During harvest, David waits in the stronghold at the cave of Adullam while Philistines occupy the region around Bethlehem. Longing aloud for water from the well by Bethlehem’s gate, he inspires three mighty warriors to break through enemy lines and bring it back. Yet David refuses to drink it, pouring it out before the LORD as a sacred offering, honoring the risk they took with their lives.
