Description
After David spares Mephibosheth because of his oath to Jonathan, seven descendants of Saul are handed over and exposed on a hill at the start of barley harvest. Rizpah, mother of two of the dead, spreads sackcloth on a rock and keeps relentless watch for months, driving away birds by day and wild animals by night until the rains finally come.
