Description
David orders Amasa to gather the men of Judah, but when he delays, Abishai and Joab move out to pursue Sheba. At the great rock in Gibeon, Joab meets Amasa with deceptive familiarity, greeting him as a brother and drawing near as if for peace. In that tense instant, Joab turns the meeting into murder, seizing command through treachery.
