Description
Under the pretense of fulfilling a vow to the LORD, Absalom travels to Hebron with the king’s permission. There he secretly sends messengers throughout Israel with orders to proclaim him king the moment the trumpets sound. Around him are unsuspecting guests from Jerusalem and the gathering strength of a hidden conspiracy. As sacrifices are offered, Ahithophel, David’s counselor, arrives, and the rebellion gains dangerous momentum.
