2 Samuel 1 (vv. 1-4)

At Ziklag, after returning from battle, David receives a sudden visitor on the third day. A man from Saul’s camp arrives with torn clothes and dust on his head, clear signs of disaster and mourning. He falls to the ground before David in exhausted reverence, while David and his men look on with tense uncertainty, sensing that the message he carries will change everything.
