2 Kings 8 (vv. 14-15)

Hazael returns to Ben-Hadad and reports only the hopeful part of Elisha’s message. The next day he takes a thick cloth soaked in water and smothers the helpless king, then rises in his place as ruler of Aram. The scene marks a chilling transition from servant to usurper.
