2 Kings 4 (vv. 31-37)

After Gehazi’s attempt with the staff fails, Elisha enters the upper room alone where the boy lies dead on the prophet’s bed. He shuts the door, prays, and stretches himself over the child. The boy’s body grows warm; Elisha walks back and forth, then stretches himself over him again. At last the child sneezes seven times and opens his eyes. Elisha calls the mother, who enters, falls at his feet, and receives her son back alive. The scene reveals intense prayer, holy persistence, and resurrection-like restoration.
