2 Kings 4 (vv. 18-30)

Years later, the promised child collapses in the field and dies on his mother’s lap. She lays him on Elisha’s bed in the upper room, then urgently rides to Mount Carmel. When she reaches Elisha, she falls at his feet in bitter anguish while Gehazi moves to push her away. Elisha senses her deep distress, and she cries out that she never asked for a son or false hope. The scene is charged with grief, determination, and faith refusing to let go.
