Description
After the wall is breached, Zedekiah and the remaining soldiers flee by night through the gate near the king’s garden, slipping between the walls in desperation. Under darkness they head toward the Arabah, but Babylonian forces pursue them across the plains near Jericho. The king is overtaken, abandoned by scattered troops, and brought in chains to Riblah for judgment.
