2 Kings 25 (vv. 1-3)

Nebuchadnezzar’s army surrounds Jerusalem in the ninth year of Zedekiah. Siege ramps and earthworks rise around the city walls while the people inside endure a long, grinding blockade. As the months stretch into years, famine tightens its grip, and the once-defended city becomes a place of fear, hunger, and waiting.

시드기야 제구년, 느부갓네살의 군대가 예루살렘을 완전히 포위한다. 성벽 주변에는 공성 토루와 진지가 세워지고, 성 안의 백성은 길고 혹독한 봉쇄를 견뎌야 한다. 수개월이 수년으로 이어지면서 기근은 더욱 심해지고, 한때 견고하던 도성은 두려움과 굶주림, 막막한 기다림의 장소가 된다.
