Description
Seeking assurance, Hezekiah asks for a sign that the LORD will heal him. Isaiah offers a choice concerning the shadow on the stairway of Ahaz, and Hezekiah requests the harder sign: that the shadow move backward ten steps. In response to Isaiah’s prayer, the shadow retreats, turning an ordinary architectural feature into a cosmic testimony of divine power over time and creation.
