2 Kings 2 (vv. 1-3)

Elijah and Elisha begin their final journey from Gilgal toward Bethel as the day of Elijah’s departure approaches. Elijah tells Elisha to remain behind, but Elisha refuses with solemn loyalty. At Bethel, a group of prophets comes out and quietly acknowledges that Elijah is about to be taken away, creating a tense atmosphere of grief, secrecy, and divine expectation.
