Description
Once the sacrifice is underway, Jehu gives the signal, and the guards strike down the servants of Baal. The sacred stone is brought out and burned, and the temple itself is torn down and desecrated. Though Jehu eradicates Baal worship from Israel, the passage closes with the sobering truth that he still clings to the sins of Jeroboam and does not fully walk in the law of the LORD.
