2 Kings 10 (vv. 18-24)

Jehu publicly declares that he will serve Baal more than Ahab did, but his words are a trap. Prophets, priests, and worshipers of Baal are summoned from across Israel until the temple is filled from end to end. Robed for ceremony, they gather for sacrifice, unaware that Jehu and Jehonadab have entered to ensure that only Baal’s servants are present while armed men wait outside.
