2 Chronicles 33 (vv. 1-5)

The young king Manasseh is shown reversing the reforms of Hezekiah. On a hill above Jerusalem and even within the temple courts, workers raise pagan altars, Asherah poles, and symbols of the heavenly bodies. Manasseh bows before the starry host, leading Judah into the practices of the surrounding nations and defiling the place where the LORD had set His name.
