Description

The Spirit of God comes upon Azariah son of Oded, and he goes out to meet King Asa after victory. Standing before the king and the gathered people of Judah and Benjamin, the prophet delivers a solemn message: the LORD will be with them if they remain with Him, but if they abandon Him, they will be abandoned. He recalls the dark years when Israel lacked the true God, teaching priests, and the law, and when the nations were torn by turmoil and distress. Yet he also offers courage, urging Asa and the people to be strong because their faithful work will be rewarded.
