Description
As David presses on with four hundred men beyond the Besor Valley, they find an abandoned Egyptian servant collapsed in the field, near death from hunger and thirst. They give him water, figs, and raisins, and life returns to him. In gratitude and desperation, he reveals the Amalekites' path and agrees to guide David if he is spared from death and from being returned to his cruel master.
