Description
David flees to Samuel at Ramah, and together they stay at Naioth among a company of prophets. Saul sends messengers repeatedly, but each group is overcome by the Spirit of God and begins to prophesy; finally Saul himself comes, and the same divine power overtakes him. He strips off his outer garments and lies humbled all day and night before Samuel’s presence, turning his pursuit into public humiliation and revealing that God’s power frustrates the king’s violence.
