1 Kings 8 (vv. 1-5)

King Solomon gathers the elders, tribal leaders, and family chiefs of Israel in Jerusalem during the great festival month. Priests and Levites solemnly carry the ark of the covenant, along with the tent of meeting and the sacred furnishings, up from Zion, the City of David. Before the ark, Solomon and the vast assembly of Israel worship with innumerable sacrifices, creating a grand public procession that unites king, priesthood, and people in reverence before the LORD.

솔로몬 왕은 절기인 일곱째 달에 예루살렘으로 이스라엘의 장로들과 각 지파의 우두머리들, 가문의 족장들을 모두 불러 모읍니다. 제사장들과 레위인들은 시온 곧 다윗 성에서 언약궤와 회막, 그리고 모든 성물을 엄숙하게 메고 올라옵니다. 언약궤 앞에서는 솔로몬과 온 이스라엘 회중이 셀 수 없을 만큼 많은 희생제사를 드리며 예배하고, 왕과 제사장과 백성이 함께 여호와 앞에 경외심으로 하나 되는 장엄한 행렬이 펼쳐집니다.
