Description
During the night at Gibeon, the LORD appears to Solomon in a dream and invites him to ask for whatever he desires. Rather than requesting wealth, long life, or victory over enemies, Solomon humbly confesses his youth and inexperience and asks for a discerning heart to govern God’s people. God is pleased with this request and promises him unparalleled wisdom, along with riches, honor, and the possibility of long life if he remains obedient.

기브온에서 밤중에 여호와께서 꿈으로 솔로몬에게 나타나 무엇이든 구하라고 하신다. 솔로몬은 부나 장수, 원수의 죽음을 구하지 않고 자신의 젊음과 미숙함을 겸손히 고백하며 하나님의 백성을 다스릴 분별하는 마음을 구한다. 하나님은 이 요청을 기뻐하시고, 그에게 비교할 수 없는 지혜와 함께 부와 영광, 그리고 순종할 경우 장수까지 약속하신다.
