Description
Zedekiah strikes Micaiah in public, mocking his claim to have heard the true word of the LORD. Ahab then orders that Micaiah be taken away and imprisoned on bread and water until the king returns safely. Micaiah’s final declaration hangs over the scene: if Ahab returns safely, then the LORD has not spoken through him.
