Description
After the devastating defeat at Aphek and the collapse of the city wall, Ben-Hadad hides in an inner room. His officials approach Ahab wearing sackcloth around their waists and ropes on their heads, pleading for the king’s life. Ahab unexpectedly calls Ben-Hadad his brother, invites him into his chariot, and makes a treaty with him, releasing the enemy king whom God had delivered into his hand.
