Description
When Joab hears of the shifting judgments in the kingdom, he flees to the tent of the LORD and grasps the horns of the altar, seeking sanctuary. Benaiah enters and commands him to come out, but Joab refuses, choosing to die there. Solomon’s order is carried out so that the bloodguilt of past murders may be removed from David’s house. The scene is charged with fear, sacred space, and the sobering cost of justice.
