Description
After judgment falls on the prophets of Baal, Elijah tells Ahab that the sound of heavy rain is coming. While Ahab goes to eat and drink, Elijah climbs to the summit of Carmel, bows low in prayer, and sends his servant again and again to look toward the sea. At last a tiny cloud appears on the horizon, no bigger than a man’s hand. Soon the sky darkens, the wind rises, rain pours down, and Elijah, strengthened by the LORD, runs ahead of Ahab’s chariot toward Jezreel.
