1 Corinthians 1 (vv. 10-17)

Paul’s plea for unity is set against the painful reality of factions within the church. In one shared space, believers are visibly split into tense clusters, each rallying around a different human leader—Paul, Apollos, Cephas, or simply claiming Christ in a spirit of rivalry. The scene captures the tragedy of a divided body: raised hands, guarded expressions, and broken fellowship. Yet the center of the image points away from personalities and toward the cross, reminding the viewer that Christ is not divided and that the gospel, not human prestige, is the church’s foundation.
