Description
David summons Solomon and gives him a deeply personal and sacred commission. He explains that although he desired to build the house of the LORD, he was not chosen for that task because he had shed much blood. Instead, Solomon, the son of peace, is appointed to build the temple. David blesses him, praying that the LORD will grant him success, wisdom, discretion, and courage to keep the law and complete the holy work.
