Description
David insists on paying the full price for Araunah’s threshing floor, refusing to offer to the LORD what costs him nothing. He builds an altar there and offers burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. In answer, the LORD sends fire from heaven upon the altar, and the angel puts away his sword. The scene culminates in accepted sacrifice, mercy after judgment, and the sanctifying of the site through divine response.
