That night, God’s word comes to Nathan and overturns the earlier assumption. Nathan receives a divine revelation that David is not the one appointed to build a house for the LORD. Instead, God reminds David of his shepherd origins, His faithful guidance through every victory, and His greater promise: the LORD Himself will build a lasting house for David, raising up his son to establish the kingdom and build the temple, with an everlasting throne ordained by God.

그 밤 하나님 말씀이 나단에게 임하여 앞선 판단을 뒤집으신다. 나단은 다윗이 여호와를 위한 집을 지을 사람이 아니라는 계시를 받는다. 대신 하나님은 다윗이 목동이었던 시절부터 그를 택하시고 모든 승리의 길에서 함께하셨음을 상기시키신다. 그리고 더 큰 약속을 주신다. 곧 여호와께서 친히 다윗을 위해 집을 세우시고, 그의 아들을 일으켜 왕국을 견고하게 하며 성전을 짓게 하시고, 그 왕위를 영원히 세우시겠다는 것이다.
