1 Chronicles 17 (vv. 1-2)

After settling into his royal palace, David reflects on the contrast between his own luxurious cedar house and the ark of the covenant dwelling in a tent. He speaks openly to Nathan the prophet, expressing his concern that the symbol of the LORD’s presence remains in a temporary sanctuary while he lives in comfort. Nathan initially encourages him, believing David’s intention is honorable and blessed by God.

왕궁에 정착한 후 다윗은 자신이 사는 화려한 백향목 궁전과 아직 장막 안에 머물고 있는 언약궤를 대조하며 깊이 생각한다. 그는 선지자 나단에게 자신의 마음을 솔직히 털어놓으며, 자신은 안락한 집에 사는데 여호와의 임재를 상징하는 궤는 임시 처소에 있다는 사실을 안타까워한다. 나단은 처음에는 다윗의 뜻이 선하고 하나님께 복을 받은 것이라 여기며 그를 격려한다.
